The soap opera of the State Bank has no end in sight - in its nearly thousand episodes

António Domingues, ex-president of the Caixa Geral de Depositos,
the Portuguese State Bank

Mário Centeno, Minister of Finance has continuously lied,
in parliament, in press conferences, in the EU,
about what had or had not been promised to António Domingues,
BEFORE Domingues accepted to head the State Bank,
on HIS OWN CONDITIONS:

Portugal's Finance ministry,
negotiated with Domingues' lawyers to change a law
to suit the wishes of the future president of the CGD
Mourinho Felix  (the Secretary of Finance)
chose António Domingues´ own lawyers to formule the new law,
as it was necessary to change the existing law.
The new law, made especially to fit
the whims of António Domingues,
offered him and his team
exemption to declare their tax and personal property,
a declaration which is an obligation for ALL civil servants of the State.

The Ministry of Finance negotiated point-by-point with the law firm
Campos Ferreira, Sá Carneiro & Associados, which advised António Domingues,
without a signed contract, to amend the law, exempting CGD administrators
from the obligations imposed by the EGP ).
The intention was also that the future administration of the public bank
be exempted from the delivery of the declarations to the Constitutional Court (TC),
confirmed in several emails delivered by Domingues to the Parliament,
consulted by the PUBLIC.
Even though this has officially been confirmed
by the Secretary of State for Finance, Ricardo Mourinho Félix,
the Socialist Government now denies
that there has been a compromise
between the Finance Minister
and António Domingues in this regard.

António Costa LIED!
Mário Centeno is still LYING!

Even when the truth stares them in the face,
in BLACK AN WHITE!

There is NO HONOUR OR DIGNITY IN SOCIALIST POLITICS

"The credibility of Portugal is at stake.
In Europe, in the corridors of the European Parliament.
there are many comments, there are many doubts,
the questions our fellow members are asked by our European partners:
What did António Costa have to say, or Mário Centeno and Mourinho Felix,
This espisode has made the position of Portugal even more fragile."

"Words count," even though António Costa "thinks the opposite."

"And a lie is a lie in any country in Europe and anywhere in the world,"
said Rangel,
for whom is the credibility of the country is at stake.

In the name of that credibility, he asks for the resignation of the minister.
"Mário Centeno should resign as soon as possible
and António Costa should apologize to the Portuguese
and owes a clear explanation to European political institutions
and international credit institutions," said Rangel.

Also the CDS,
although without mentioning the word resignation,
said that it is up to the prime minister to take responsibility for the case.
Costa "should decided if he wants to keep someone in the Government,
who has lied to the Parliament," said João Almeida on Thursday.
