Mário Soares - founder of the Socialist Party in Portugal, died today.

Not much to comment.

A person who has trampled on the national flag, 

while in self-exiled in luxury in Paris, 

will now have the national flag flying at half mast 

for three days of national mourning.

The same flag which he disrepected and trampled!!

He was brutish as President and PM.

He did not respect the Portuguese people as such. 

But for the socialists, 

he is a semi-god!

For the next few days there won´t be ANY other news in this country, 

it will be Mário Soares Ad nauseam!!

Socialist António Costa, the Prime Minister, 
will NOT attend the State funeral, 
as he is on a State visit in India.
