"Political reorientation".

"What separates us, are not places in the new government, 

which we refused right from the start, 

or our personal relationships - which are very friendly, I must recognize - 

but the imperative need of the country and the sovereign will of the Portuguese 

for a political reorientation policy

 which they (PSD/CDS), persist in not acceptting", 

countered António Costa in his response letter 

to which the Lusa agency had access.

"O que nos separa não são lugares no governo, 
que recusámos desde o início, ou o relacionamento pessoal - bastante cordial, 
devo reconhecê-lo - 
mas a imperiosa necessidade do país e a soberana vontade dos portugueses
 de uma reorientação de política, 
que persistem em não aceitar", 
contrapõe António Costa na carta de resposta a que a agência Lusa teve acesso.

It sounds like:

"From Neo-Marxism to Democractic Theory"

While history continues, but the question is: 

what does it take to keep Portugal stable and "enlightened"

in the view of new political realities?

Parece: 
"Do Neo-marxismo à Teoria Democrática"

Enquanto a história continua, a questão é: 
o que é necessário para manter Portugal estável e "iluminado" 
na visão de novas realidades políticas?

At the same time, do we have the moral and intellectual resources

to resist the omnipresent forms of counterenlightenment?

Costa´s insistence on a political reorientation policy

of Portugal, brings forward old historical conflicts, 

and pro-European values.

Ao mesmo tempo, 
perguntamos se temos os recursos morais e intelectuais 
para resistir às omnipresentes formas de contragolpe de iluminação? 

A insistência do António Costa numa política de reorientação política de Portugal, 
traz para a memória antigos conflitos históricos, e valores pró-europeus.

The obselescence of the Marxist tradition,  

reminds us that all of the various Marxisms and neo-Marxisms
have lost their credibility one way or the other, 
because of the disaster of revolutionary socialism.

A obsolescência da tradição marxista,
lembra-nos que todos os vários marxistas e neo-marxistas
perderam a credibilidade de um jeito ou de outro,

por causa do desastre do socialismo revolucionário.


If Costa thinks that Portugal NEEDS to 
be reorientated to accept a neo-revolutionary socialism/Marxism, 
he is making a fatal mistake.

Portugal DOES NOT WANT TO BE 
"reorientated in politics"
especially Marxism and neo-Marxisms.

Se Costa acha que Portugal precisa de
ser reorientado politicamente para aceitar 
um socialismo neo-revolucionária/marxista,
ele está cometendo um erro fatal.

Portugal NÃO QUERO SER
"reorientado politicamente"

especialmente para o marxismo e neo-marxismo.

Costa has become comfortable bed-fellows with the marxists 
and radical leftists parties in Portugal and Europe, 
but perhaps he, himself needs a "reorientation of politics"
in a sovietic gulag.
Breaking stone and suffering from Siberian frostbite, 
will certainly cure his "reorientation" dillusions 

Costa tornou-se num confortável cama-companheiro 
com os marxistas e os partidos esquerdistas radicais 
em Portugal e na Europa, 
mas talvez ele mesmo precisa de uma "reorientação da política" 
num gulag soviético. 
Quebrando pedra e sofrendo de queimaduras produzidas pelo frio Siberiano, 
certamente vai curar as suas ilusões de "reorientação politica."
