"PS only knows how to conjugate the verb "restore"
and will therefore will "restore" the troika back in Portugal"
says Nuno Magalhães, parliamentary whip for the CDS,
one of the coalition parties of the current government.
"The Socialists have not learned anything
from their past mistakes,
as they continue
to only promise and only conjugate ONE verb,
which is: "restore/replenish".
"Replenish" lost subsidies, "replenish" public holidays,
"replenish" county courts, "replenish" public debt,
and "replenish" the deficit.
If the Portuguese give them their vote
and therefore govenmental responsibility,
the socialists will eventually restore
"the troika" back in Portugal
as they did in 2011,"
when they brought Portugal to its knees
said the vice-chairman of the party,
having considered that the Socialists
"have learned nothing from their past mistakes."
Nuno Magalhães said that,
in this year´s elections, it is important
to choose between the "easy-going illussions"
 proposed by the Socialist Party,
which increasingly looks
more and more like "the Socialist Party of 2010"
and the "realism" of the right-wing coalition,
which will ensure that Portugal
will never again be ruled by foreign creditors.
"Today we can lift our heads high, ~
to present our measures to correct the deficit,
sometimes even going against the will of our creditors,
to whose measures we were forced to comply,"
said Nuno Magalhães,
giving as an example
the increase in the minimum wage,
going against the wishes of the IMF
and despite the European reticence.
It was only possible because Portugal,
is once again a sovereign country
at the hand of the current government,
after the socialists turned Portugal
into a "protectorate,"
Portugal could take this step,
reinforced Nuno Magalhães, by saying:
that the current government
"was able to comply with the memorandum's measures,"
even though "it did not negotiate or sign the memorandum."
He pointed out that Portugal is now growing
above the EU average
and that the unemployment rate is steadily decreasing.
and that the unemployment rate is steadily decreasing.
The Socialist Party should now show some "democratic humility"
and especially some "political honesty"
and recognize that this is "good news",
 especially as it is recognized
by reputable national and international agencies,
such as the INE or the OECD,
added Nuno Magalhães,
who also pointed out the constant "fickleness"
of the general secretary of the PS, António Costa.
"It is indeed extraordinary that Dr. António Costa,
who praised the Syriza [the Greek government party] effusively,
claiming that Syriza was a new window of hope
which opened in Europe,
which opened in Europe,
but today he has drastically changed his position,
before the unfolding Greek tragedy.
 in Greece.
Here in Portugal, António Costa came to the conclusion,
that after all the Government of Syriza is a foolish government.
It is this inconsistancy of António Costa
that the Portuguese will not fail to repay,~
 in due course
 with their vote or,
in this case, the lack of it "
he said.
