Tie-less syriza radical style in action

Francisco Assis, eurodeputy of the socialist party
has a different view on Juncker´s words.

Copying the Greek fashion style of "no-ties",
he bitterly accused the current government
of being weak and without dignity
before the European Institutions.

The MEP considered that the government of Passo Coelho
has always had a position of subordination and uncritical thinking.
"There was an uncritical attitude in a subordinate position
in relation to the "troika" and before some European powers
with whom it was necessary to talk,"

For the socialist,
the governmental action would have been more effective
if the Portuguese ministers had opted for a more demanding position.
He also stressed, that international institutions
"respect us more if we make ourselves worthy of respect"
and "it never happened
during this three-year right-wing governance of Portugal."

"I believe this attitude from Jean-Claude Juncker is a clear rebuke
to the behaviour of the main political authorities in Portugal.
He is making the speech about what we should have done before
and it is a kind of non-parliamentary motion of non-confidence
against the current Portuguese government, " concludes the MEP.

Now look who is speaking!!
The same Francisco Assis was part
and parcel of the disastrous Sócrates socialist government,
(even being the parliamentary whip for his party)
which brought Portugal to the very brink of bankrupcy and misery,
having to beg the "troika" for a 78 billion euro bailout,
as there wasn´t even money left to pay salaries
to the public servants or to keep essential services
afloat for more than a month.

Now fired on by the Greek Syriza bravado,
all socialists are now tie-less and very critical
of the government who walked the difficult path of "calvary"
to pay the debts of billions of euros left by these spendthrift socialists.
Syriza and other radicals are their heroes now,
saying that Portugal should have stood up against the "troika"
refusing to pay back the enormous public debt,
while forgetting that we still
have to pay back the 78 billion euros
the socialists asked for several decades to come.

So much for radical Syriza style, tie-less bravado socialism!!
