The long knives are out for Seguro's head - will he survive??

Pacheco Pereira believes that the biggest loser of the European elections
is António José Seguro, leader of the PS Socialist Party,
because it was far from a vote that would allow the PS
to aspire for a significant legislative victory in 2015.

Speaking on the television station SIC's "Squaring of the Circle" program,
known to be extremely critical of the current leadership of the PSD
and the action of the Government,
the Social Democrat activist believes that the vote of 31.5% of the PS,
which is only less than four percentage points more than the Alliance Portugal,
reveals that the PS is not seen as a party to be "trusted"
and to "polarize future options for a new Government."

"I wonder what goes around in the head of Seguro
and his men: they must be anxiously thinking
of how they will be able to stay in power?"
In his opinion, only a new leadership in the PS,
can offer something new because,
"Seguro has nothing more to offer the country or to the Socialist Party".
"Those declarations of a thunderous victory are Seguro's self-defense
to hide a mediocre result."

Carlos César, Ferro Rodrigues, José Sócrates (ex-PM)
and António Costa, all important Socialist leaders,
have all expressed their concern about the modest
results of Seguro's Socialist party in the elections,
and questioned his leadership
as the Socialist Leader.

ONLY the future will tell
if the long knives are ready to stab Seguro in the back.
