The cherry on the cake - the come-back Sócrates!

For the European Election, the Socialist Party of Portugal has chosen, 

as the cherry on top of the cake, 

ex-PM José Socrates to finalize the election campaign period.

The current leader of the party,
António José Seguro, has had no choice
 in order to pacify the rival factions in the Socialist party,

and put forward a feigned face of unity,

than to allow Sócrates to come forward
and publicly campaign for the Socialist cause.

But Mr. Sócrates' legacy is still far TOO PAINFUL to bear.

In the socialist regime, of which he was the supreme leader, 

corruption and disrepect for public taxpayer's money was rife 

and without control, leading inevitibly to bankrupcy and utter misery.

Sócrates manages to indebt the country for decades to come, 

and agaist his stubborn will, had to plead
for an international  bail-out, when the country

was driven into the hell of complete bankrupcy in 2011,
without any international credibility. 

What followed, was the arrival of the Troika, 

which he summoned and signed their very restricted conditions, 

in order to receive 78 billion euro for the country to survive, 

to pay salaries, and keep the people alive.

Sócrates, the culprit, responsible for this national disgrace
now comes out triumphantly
as a campaigner for the EU elections, 

while being held in the highest esteem
by the current leadership of the Socialists.

Sócrates should have been brought to justice 

for all the suffering, shame and hardship, 

he has caused this nation,
especially the future generations. 

He should at least have an ethical dignity and honour,
showing repentance and shame for his brutal acts,
and show, above all,
 respect for all those to whom he has brought
deep despair and suffering 

by NOT participating in an election campaign.

Portugal NOW has to pay back the 78 billion euro, 

lent to the country by the "troika",
(the IMF, the CEB and the EU)
over the next decades,
with twice yearly inspections of the IMF
until at least 2038, 

or when at least 75% of the borrowed money
of the bail-out is paid back.

HARD TIMES AWAITS PORTUGAL:

and the culprit for this crisis appears unashamed on stage

in an election campaign.

HARD TIMES; SUFFERING; LOSS OF OPPORTUNITIES;
SOARING UNEMPLOYMENT; DESPAIR AND NO HOPE

FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR PORTUGAL,

 can be laid full square on Sócartes' doorstep, 

while he himself lives in luxury

with a reported 38 million euro stacked away in 

some far away fiscal paradise.
