Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Social Democratic Party

In his speech at the celebration of the 40th anniversary
of the Social Democratic Party, Pedro Passos Coelho,
the current Prime Minister of Portugal,
said he believe that the Portuguese can have more
confidence and hope for a better future!

The Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho, said today that the country,
ended a cycle of emergency, and will now have to show the "whole world"
that Portugal does not need an external protection program
to be able to govern itself.

"I think at this stage we have closed a cycle of emergency international assistance,
we are now looking forward to be able to show the entire world
that Portugal do not need an external supervision program to show us the rules,
we know what's important and we know what we have to do in the future,
"said Pedro Passos Coelho, at the inauguration of the Museum of Discovery in Porto.

He also added: "now is the time for all those who need encouragement,
for all those who are still doubtful, just waiting to see whether or not
the time has come to believe more in our history,
more in our country and more in our future."

At this time, the country needs "more enterprising people,
"who are not overcome by adversity,
and we need to create new jobs to "reabsorb much of the unemployment
that has been generated by the crisis over the years," the PM added.

The Portuguese prime minister said that Portugal
still needs to attract more tourists to rediscover the "cosmopolitan spirit"
which led the Portuguese to the four corners of the world.

"Believing in our history and in ourselves
we can also have more confidence in the future,"
he concluded.
