João Ribeiro, spokesperson for the socialist party
Smelling blood,
the socialists have entered into a ridiculus euphoria,
at the demission of Finance Minister, Vitor Gaspar.
Calling for immediate elections,
while the current government was elected with a majority two years ago,
therefore with another two years of legisture left,
socialist greed for political power is more than evident.
"This resignation will stir up all internal political instability
and cheap demagoguery of the Leftists parties and trade unions,
and will also stoke the greed of the PS",
said Nuno Ribeiro da Silva.
As evidence of the urgency for a political war and marking of territory,
João Ribeiro in a news conference
defended a call for "immediate" early elections
and confirmed that the Secretary-General of the party,
António José Seguro,
has requested an "urgent audience with" the President of the Republic.
He goes as far as to claim that Gaspar's resignation
"illustrates the collapse of what remains of a government
that has lost authority and credibility" and that therefore "definitely fell today."
Socialists forget that during their recent disastrous reign,
a Minister of Finance also resigned
and it's obvious that the simple fact doesn't put
any government in jeopardy.
Foolhardy socialist daydreaming,
greedy to get their hands on power, throwing all caution to the wind,
forgetting conviniently the international accords signed and negotiated
with the troika by Sócrates that they are forced to respect.
No use to chase the blood drawn from a fragilized government.
