A year ago,
the current government launched
a programme called: "Revitalizar"
aimed at saving companies in danger of bankrupcy,
and therefore secure thousands of jobs.
According to data released by the government to TSF radio,
a total of 703 companies joined the programme,
of which 122 completed the programme,
saving about five thousand jobs
with an estimated turnover of 600 million euros.
The Secretary of State for Entrepreneurship,
Competitiveness and Innovation,
Franquelim Alves,
also said that the programme is a success
and that the overall balance is positive,
but he now wishes for a reduction in demand.
"It would be a sure sign that the economy is recovering,"
said the official.
