The parasites of society

According to the Correiro da Manha newspaper
(The morning mail),
just the Education trade union,
costs the country more than 9 millions euros per annum.

At least 281 teachers don't work as teachers,
but as trade unionists,
receiving a salary of more than €3,000 per month,
which doesn't include other expenses.

In 2005, there were more than 1,327 teachers working
exclusively for the trade union ,
which cost the state at least 20 million euros per year.
The former unpopular Minister of Education,
Maria de Lurdes Rodrigues,
managed to reduce this number to 450,
with an enormous contestation of trade unions
in street demonstrations and strikes.
In 2006, the trade unions agreed to a further reduction,
which brought the number to 300.

But these Trade Unions, are out in the streets
demonstrating against the austerity measures
of the Portuguese government,
under a strict international rescue aid plan,
because the Trade Unions REFUSE to change the SYSTEM!!
They shout against the loss of their acquired "rights"
and clamour for the resignation of the current PM.

The trade Unions have become the parasites of society,
living off the millions of hard earned tax payers' money.
