Socialist Party in an enormous "feeding frenzy" at the smell of blood

claims Socialists must prepare to be in power again soon!!

A year ago, Vítor Gaspar, 

current Finance minister of Portugal, 

warned against the reduction in the TSU 

(Unique Social Tax -

the tax contribution that each company has to pay 

for social security benefits for each worker it employs),

considering its effect on the economy 

as being virtually reduced, minimal actually

and that caution was needed in its generalized use.

Speaking at a Press conference this afternoon, 

Vítor Gaspar, reaffirmed that the country is still in a grave economic situation, 

and justify alternative austerity measures

 in a grave tone of voice.

Now that the current government 

is planning to introduce a TSU of just 18% 

(reducing it from its previous 23.5%) 

as a stimulant for the economy on the insistance of the Troika,

negotiated and agreed on by the previous socialist government of José Sócrates,

all hell has broken loose.

The most incredible of all is 

the short memory of those who 

were part and parcel of the socialist government, 

and now scream blue murder when the current government introduces

something which THEY (the previous socialist gevernment) 

negotiated and signed with the troika!!.

The reason for all the hysteria is simple, 

previous priviledges of friends and family 

are being touched by the higher contribution to social security, by the higher taxation on great fortunes and luxury goods, like homes, properties, cars, boats and planes.

Worried about the poor workers and the unemployed 

(thus a higher social security contribution for all)??

NO; NEVER; just defending their own priviledges and luxuries!!
