The "Public" Foundations funded by the tax-payers' money.

The scandalous use of tax-payers money, paid to so-called "private" foundations,
has shocked the country.

In a two-year period, 2008 -2010,
the State paid more than €1034 million of tax-payers' money,
 to various foundations.

€217 million went to "IPSS" foundations ( Private Institutions of Social Solidarity),
while more than €817 million went to Non-IPSS foundations.

More than half of the €817 million went to the FCM (Foundation of Mobile Communication), which wer responsible for the distribution of the Magalhães computer to schoolchildren. Receiving State money for a PRIVATE foundation, seems illegal at most.

The Inatel Foundation, which is a public institution of private rights, received €39 million of tax-payers' money.

AMI (International Medical Assistance), received €7.097 million from the State. It is a private institution which fights against poverty and social exclusion and had more than 900 thousand benficiaries.

The Mário Soares Foundation received €1.272 million of tax-payers' money from the state. It has 43 workers, promoting cultural, educational and scientific events.

Mário Soares' wife's foundation Pro Dignitate, received €494.860 in tax-payers' money, promoting Human Rights.
