State spent 6 million cars in managers

There are a total of 224 cars assigned to the boards of the State Business Sector (ESS, comprised of 63 state companies), of which more than half are Mercedes, BMW or Audi. These cars cost the State treasury 6.4 million euros is 2010, under the Sócrates regime!!

The State managers' preference goes to the tops of the range of German cars. There are 49 Mercedes for the state administrators, followed by 38 BMW's and 35 Audis - which represents more than half the fleet of the state attributed to public enterprise managers.

The Center Hospital de S. João is the leader in acquisition of expensive cars: it spent 245 thousand euros on seven Toyota Avensis, at a cost of 35,000 euros each.

With regard to monthly payments, Caixa Geral de Depósitos has the most expensive car park of the state enterprises: there are seven high-end vehicles, of which four are Mercedes and two Audi, worth 147 000 euros / year.

The board of CP, led by Cardoso dos Reis, has five MercedesE220 CDI, combined with a provision of 27 thousand euros in2010. Vehicles purchased for the president, the vice-presidentand three members in 2008.
