Judge lost part of his salary for investigating corruption

The "Super-judge", Carlos Alexandre,
has lost part of his salary,
after starting to investigate cases of corruption
which envolve politicians,
especially the "Face Oculta"-case,
where he refused to destroy
telephone taps of conversations between
one of the accused,
Armando Vara,
ex socialist-minister
and the PM José Socrates.
Carlos Alexandre had to face up
to the president
of the Supreme Court,
Noronha de Nascimento,
who ordered the complete
destruction of ALL
evidence that might implicate
the Prime Minister,
José Socrates,
giving the clear impression
that top politicians are
ABOVE THE LAW.
