The rise of new nuclear power versus the current fuel crisis

Massive CO2 emissions are having devastating effects on our planet, while oil speculation has sent prices skyrocketing.
Global warming has become the biggest challenge for mankind in this century.
Despite massive international investments in renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar and biomass power generation, these energy sources are still responsible for an insignificant percentage of energy in the global power supply.
With the phanthom of an enormous oil price spike probable in the near future in the order of 250 dollars per barrel, an urgent need has arisen for a serious worldwide discussion and consensus about the "other" alternative:
nuclear power.
