Pedro Passo Coelho, the current PM and the Socialist, António Costa,
contender to be PM
Portugal can not move forward without consensus between the major parties,
said professor Marcelo Rebelo da Sousa.
"It is not possible in Portugal, nor in any other more advanced democracy,
if there is no consensus between the major parties on essential areas."
Marcelo thus warned:
"the Portuguese, when they vote, must have a notion that,
the choice is between those who have a clear idea about
what is for the good of the country,
and the urgent need for all the main political parties
to sit down round a table and establish a system of consensus
[PSD and CDS-PP]
in crucial areas.
However, the people should also know that the PS (Socialist Party),
refuses a regime of consensus ".
"Now it is up to the Portuguese. They have the last say," he said.
The Socialist leader, Antonio Costa,
refuses " a regime system agreement"
and threatens to reject enabling the State Budget (OE) for 2016,
in the event of the socialist losing the elections
and a coalition victory PSD / CDS-PP.
What patriotic sensibility Costa has.
No fairplay,
just a threat to the portuguese,
either you are forced to vote for me,
or I will NOT enable next year´s budget.
Childish tantrums and political threats!
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, in Braga, compared the leader of the PS,
António Costa, to a "selfish boy" who just agrees to play a game,
if he has the guarentee to be the ultimate winner.
Marcelo stressed the need for "regime agreements"
in some areas for the country
to be able to be "booted" into economic growth.
"The only thing that makes sense, is to vote in the PS,
which is a vote of the people who want to change the policy,
nothing would be fair than to maintain the current policy.
It is clear that we, the socialists, will not enable the budget
for the next year
nor will there be a possible agreement between the PS
and the right-wing coalition "said António Costa.
The former leader of the PSD, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa,
criticized the PS for not accepting to sit down with the coalition
to celebrate a "system of agreements" in crucial areas
such as Health, Education and Social Security,
so the "choice" on the 4th of October,
will be between those who propose these agreements,
the PSD / CDS-PP coalition,
and those who refuse, the Socialists of the PS.
"On one side we have the proposal of the coalition,
which goes towards good governance.
On the other hand, we have the PS leader's statements,
to the effect that in case the Portuguese choose
to give the victory to the coalition,
Costa refuses to create conditions for the new government to rule,
by refusing to enable the State Budget for 2016."
Political terrorism and threats...
"either you vote for me or I'll make Portugal
ungovernable!"
What a "great" Patriot!
"Above all, because it reminds me of a little boy,
who only accepts to play, knowing from the start
that the outcome of the game is to win.
He only accepts to play the game of football
if he knew at the outset that he would be the winner",
and added saying that
"it is very difficult to live with the rules of democracy,
if you can´t accept what will be the choice of the Portuguese. "
"Portugal can only have a jump start,
if there is a broad consensus on certain policies.
It will take a regime of consensus in the field of social sectors,
such as the reform of Public Administration,
the Judicial reform, and the broad outlines of Finance,"
added Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
António Costa, in desperation, now tries to blackmail
the portuguese into voting for the socialists,
otherwise he will make Portugal ungovernable.
Political terrorism, blackmail, desperation,
unpatriotic, selfish, looking only after his own personal benefits
and that of his cronies.
A perfect picture of a dictator!!
NO THANK YOU; ANTÓNIO COSTA!!
I've seen this film before!!
