What now Mr. Seguro? Failure better than success?

Photo taken of Socialist leader, António José Seguro in the Belém Palace,
after an audience with Portugal's President, Cavaco da Silva.
In the photo, in the background,

Alberto Martins, current whip of the the socialist party in parliament,
Maria Roseira de Belém, president of the socialist Party
and Carlos Zorrinho, ex-parliamentary whip for the socialist party.

Nearly a year ago, the Socialist Party, asked for a second international financial bailout.

On the 9th of July 2013, the "Jornal das Notícias", newspaper reported:
"The leader of the PS, António José Seguro, recognizes the need for a second bailout for Portugal, but argues that the current government is unable or has no legitimacy to negotiate with European partners this new aid program for Portugal".

"Only a new government resulting from elections will be able to negotiate with the troika," stressed Seguro, outside the Palace of Belém, where he was received, on Tuesday, by the President of the Republic.

The leader of the PS again defended early elections, because according to him: "a parliamentary majority just isn't enough to ensure political stability."

So much for so-called democracy,
where a nation's vote establishes their parliamentary representatives,
and the majority holds the power!!

" It takes a cohesive, competent government,
which generates confidence in the Portuguese,
with a clear mandate from the Portuguese and this can only be guaranteed
with early elections ," said the leader of the socialist party, António José Seguro.

Incoherent in his speech, as the portuguese had already chosen
a cohesive, competent government, with a solid mandate
of at least four years!

Screaming "blue murder" and calling for "early elections",
makes a fool out of these incoherent speeches.

The socialist party has consistently REFUSED to collaborate
with the current government, to come to any kind of consensus,
to alliviate to hardships caused by the strict control of the international
debtors of the bailout.

IN DEEP CONTRAST
Europe rejoices!

"Coming out of the bailout clean, is a success for Portugal as well as for Europe,"
says Durão Barroso, the President of the European Commission on Monday, 5th May 2014,
that the 'clean exit' of Portugal's adjustment program is "a success" for the country,
but also for Europe, and praised the determination of the Portuguese people.

"With a 'clean exit', Portugal will now be able to stand on its own feet.
This is not just a success for Portugal, but also a success for Europe," Barroso said
in a statement after the regular meeting with the leaders of the euro zone -
Herman Van Rompuy, the President of the Council,
 Mario Draghi, from the ECB,
and Jeroen Dijsselbloemt from he Eurogroup,
on the day that the Finance Minister Maria Luís Albuquerque,
formally announced to its eurozone partners
the decision taken by the Portuguese Government.

Pointing out that "on the 17th of May,
Portugal will exit the economic and financial adjustment program initiated in 2011,
with the support from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund"
and that "Portugal will do so without asking their international partners for a cautionary line"
Barroso considered that this" was made possible through the strict application of the program
in the last three years which has produced impressive results".

"The most serious economic imbalances, which led to the crisis, in the first place,
has been or is being corrected.
Bases for sustainable growth were re-established.
Investor confidence has returned.
I am pleased to hear the Portuguese prime minister said
that the country will continue on the path of sound public finances
and financial stability and competitiveness, "he said.

Recognizing that "it was not a pain-free process, far from it,"
the president of the European Community argued, however, that "it was an inevitable process"
and praised "the Portuguese people for the significant efforts and sacrifices they made
to be able to build a better future."

"Their determination deserves our full respect," he said,
adding that "the successful completion of this program
shows the immense capabilities of Portugal and the Portuguese
to emerge stronger from the crisis."

Most international newspapers published articles
praising Portugal's clean exit out of the restrictive bailout program.

WHAT ARGUMENTS DO THE SOCIALIST DOOMSAYERS HAVE NOW?
