António José Seguro: bulldog's jaw

António José Segura,
the Socialist opposition leader,
has stubbornly opted for a personal ambition programme,
rather than a patriotic option.
He pig-headedly refuses any compromise with Portugal in dire need
of a true patriotic spirit and statemanship.

After the Constitutional Court´s declaration on Friday,
and a failed motion of non-confidence in Parliament on Wednesday,
the country has been paralysed by fear of another inevitable
international financial bailout.

But where the portuguese and the nation would have expected
humility and less personal ambition,
José Seguro has radicalized his positions in disagreeing with
Durão Barroso, president of the UE,
Cavaco Silva, President of the Republic,
international agencies,
and ignoring immediate negative market reactions,
steadfastly kept to his hardheaded idea.
He repeatedly speaks about abstract notions of economic growth,
using electoral empty slogans,
constantly refusing to sit down to a civilized discussion
as to HOW to save the country!!

He is like a bulldog´s jaw,
desperately hanging on to his savaged victim,
strangling it to death in the process.
No statemanship, no patriotic sense;
just his inflated pigheaded ego!!
