The socialists holds a sword of Damocles over Portugal's head

Those who rolled the dice of misfortune against the country
and thereby compromised Portugal to a disastrous future,
now have a "holier than thou" attitude,
threatening to present a motion of non-confidence in Parliament,
hoping to bring the current government to its knees.

Instead of presenting a non-confidence vote,
they threaten to present it only after Easter.

The socialists are creating a situation of instability within the country
as the non-confidence vote hangs over the nation's head as the sword of Damocles.

* The sword of Damocles often depicts the imminent
and ever-present peril faced by those in power.

*The sword of Damocles also denotes the foreboding
engendered by a precarious situation,
especially one in which the onset of tragedy is restrained
only by a delicate trigger or by mere chance.

The possibility of the government´s demise,
is a matter of deep concern,
spreading uncertainty about the future of the country,
which is under an international aid programme
with extremely painful and strict austerity measures.

If, the non-confidence vote of the Socialist Party rocks the boat,
Portugal could find itself in a much worst position than it is already in.

First of all,
a forced change in governance would cause
an international panic on the financial markets;
it would render totally useless all the painful sacrifices made by the nation;
and it would definitely jeopardice all future trust in the country's credibility.

So, the dice played by the Socialists' greedy hands,
creates a dangerous gamble,
especially when, taken into consideration, that the main motivation,
is merely a question of personal ambition,
a purely panic reaction to the announced return of former PM,
José Sócrates to active political life,
which thereby, endangers or at least, greatly weakens,
António José Seguro's position,
as current Socialist leader.

But unfortunately for Mr. Seguro,
if misfortune ever allows him to become PM,
he will quickly find out that,
the constant threat of  Damocles' sword over his head,
brings lots of anxiety and sleepless nights,
and misfortune to an entire nation.
