Is Sócrates coming back?

 In a shocking revelation,
the Portuguese state television RTP,
confirmed that ex-prime minister, José Socrates,
will be a political commentator as from April.

In an unprecedented "virtual referendum",
and within less than 24 hours,
more than 100,000 people have signed an online petition
against Sócrates' return
to active political life in Portugal.

At the same time,
various different online petitions have launched an appeal,
in favour of Mr. Sócrates' return,
but surprisingly or not,
ONLY 3,000 signatures could be found,
during the same time that more than 100,000
voted against Mr. Sócrates' return.

"We, Portuguese citizens and taxpayers ,
hereby declare that we refuse to have former Prime Minister, José Sócrates,
 in any RTP program
the state television which is paid for by public money,
from taxpayers who are suffering
as the result of mismanagement by this gentleman.
We outrightly reject the bleaching of this gentleman's actions
and his government's reckless spending and acts of willful mismanagement
which led this country to go backwards,
not forward".

The country is still painfully reeling
under the most restricted austerity measures,
imposed by the "troika",
after Sócrates and his government had to beg
for na international bailout program,
leaving Portugal in a desperate situation
of galloping unemployment,
a collosal international debt,
and NO CREDIBILITY within the markets,
and NO MONEY to even pay public servants and essential services.
Now Mr. Socrates wants to come back and save his face,
and in the process would probably try
to bring down the already fragile struggling
coalition government of Mr Passos Coelho.
Mr Sócrates, however, left Portugal profoundly indebted
until at least 2050, with his highly expansionist,
willfully mismanaged regime.

Sócrates' return has left the country totally shocked
and awe-stricken by the total
lack of humility of this arrogant man!!
