In a deafening choir of protests,
Socialists deputies are calling for the sacking of Paula Teixeira da Cruz,
Minister of Justice, after being asked for her commentary
on the Judiciary Police's raid on the homes of ex-socialists ministers,
looking for evidence of crimes of fraud committed against the state, while in office.
In her response, the Justice Minister said that "nobody is above the law,"
that "everything should be investigated" and that "the time of impunity is over" -
a declaration that socialists understood as a "smear" against the time of the previous governments and featured her as a "proto-fascist".
What the hell is wrong with what the minister said?
That NOBODY is above the law?
Socialists want to imply that ministers or ex-ministers cannot be investigated?
That EVERYTHING should be investigated?
Should there be secrets that the socialists want to hide
and the public have no right to know about?
That the time of impunity is over?
Should criminals be allowed to go unpunished forever,
laughing at and proud of their impunity?
There are NO UNTOUCHABLES ANY MORE!!
The law should APPLY TO EVERYONE,
whether minister or not, secretary of state included.
NO MORE UNTOUCHABLES!!
The time of reckoning has finally come!!
