Portuguese State television channel,
RTP, costs the tax payer
more than €240 million annually.
In the years 2001 and 2002,
the annual cost was more than €400 million a year,
not counting the accumulated debt,
which the State has been paying over recent years,
culminating in 344.5 million euros being transferred
during this year's (2012) budget implementation,
to RTP.
But the scenario will soon change dramatically:
From 2013,
there will be no transfers by way of compensation
(currently located in 90 million euros, including VAT)
or debt repayment to RTP Group outputs from the State budget.
Until now, buried in the deepest financial crisis ever,
the compensation fund paid out of the State coffers to RTP,
remains close to 100 million euros!!!
Just RDP, the State controlled radio,
with its various channels,
presently receives
an estimated 40 million euros per year!!!
All these astronomic figures
out of the State's coffers,
are in fact,
TAX PAYERS' MONEY:
