The Socrates Games - the inconvient truth

After a rude,
unconstitutional gesture
of blatantly ignoring
to inform the newly elected
President of the Republic,
by announcing enormous austerity measures,
in Brussels last Friday,
without presenting them in Parliament,
José Socrates now plays the victim.

He accuses the Opposition of wanting the IMF in Portugal,
refusing to accept responsibility for leading the country
into bankrupcy.

The Opposition claims that Socrates informed
the country from Brussels
of the secret measures which Socrates
negotiated in Brussels,
with Angela Merkel.

Seeing that in Portugal we have a Parliamentary democracy,
he was obliged to at least inform the Parliament
of his intentions, a fact which he deliberatedly ignored.

He pleaded with the EU
to NOT let it be known
that he had asked for aid
from the Central European Bank.

His complete lack of credibility in Europe
and on an international level,
has caused Moody to lower Portugal's
credit rating significantly.

He refused to tell the portuguese
the inconvient truth of a failed economy,
and of a failed governance.
He failed to reveal to the portuguese
that he was forced by Brussels
to agree to the austerity measures.

He didn't have the courage
to admit his government's failure.

Now he comes out in a fighting spirit,
in the Parliament,
offering to negociate the terms
of the austerity measures already agreed on
in Brussels.

Dialogue about WHAT??
Hypocracy at its maximum!!

The austerity measure were presented
and approved in Brussels.
How can we have a dialogue about a confirmed fact?
