If you are older than 85;
or suffers from a severe trauma,
including from car crashes or shootings;
if you are amongst the severely burned patients
older than 65;
or with severe mental impairment,
including Alzheimer's disease;
or suffers from severe chronic disease,
such as heart failure, lung disease
or poorly controlled diabetes,

YOU MAY BE DENIED LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT
AND LEFT TO DIE, in case of a pandemic
or any other catastrophic disaster.

These are the new blueprint and guidelines for hospitals in the USA.

Dr. Asha Devereaux: "If a mass casualty critical care event were to occur tomorrow, many people with clinical conditions that are survivable under usual health care systems conditions may have to FORGO LIFE-SUSTAINING INTERVENTIONS owing to deficiencies in supply or staffing."

These measures would EXCLUDE health care to the poorest, most disadvantaged citizens who suffer disproportionately from chronic disease and disability. There are some real ethical concerns here, probably violating federal laws against age discrimination and disability discrimination.
