CIA director admits use of torture

CIA director Lt. Gen. Michael Hayden opposses limiting the CIA's use of interrogating techniques, which will: "substantially increase the danger to America!"

In world opinion, waterboarding, a brutal, illegal form of torture, virtually drowning the suspect, has been widely condemned, even Congress considers banning this harsh practice.

In December 2007 the CIA destroyed videotapes depicting interrogation under the use of torture which were "evidence of a crime - torture - carried out under the president's authority" editorial NYT January 3, 2008

WHY destroy the evidence?

WHY deny that the US condones torture on Gauntanamo prisoners?

What credibility can there be in information extracted under brutal torture?
